In-Home Respite Care in Philadelphia and Southeastern PA
Posted by PHC | Uncategorized
For many families who care for loved ones there comes a time where they need a break. The break could be a couple hours a few times a week to a month or two. There are two types of respite services in-home respite and out of home respite. Out-of-home respite includes adult day programs, caregiver support groups, and residential facilities. The in-home respite which Personal Health Care offers is agency or independent directed support. The services provided in the home are similar to the services you would receive if you were to use a home care agency on a ongoing basis. The caregivers would all be licensed, insured, and bonded with the care directed by a case manager and supported by a director of nursing. The care plans are tailored to the needs of each individual. Some examples of services provided are bathing, dressing, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and medication reminders. The benefits of in-home respite is that the loved one can remain in their home and usual surroundings.
